There have long been rumors that Meghan is planning to return to television. But she definitely didn’t imagine it that way…
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, and her husband Harry, 39, have now been heavily targeted in US animated show Family Guy.
The latest episode of the popular cult series was primarily about the financial situation of the royals, who now live permanently in the United States.
“Family Guy” shows. Harry and Meghan In a spacious house reminiscent of their home in California, on lounge chairs by the pool. Brit Harry is sipping a cocktail through a straw when the butler hands them a letter and says:
“Sir, here are the millions I got from Netflix – yes, why exactly?” Harry replies. “Just put them with the others.”
Next, Megan is tricked into an alleged endorsement deal at a fast food chain. Her phone beeps and she says, “Shoot, it’s time for our daily Instagram post sponsored by $250,000 Del Taco.”
The series’ makers criticize the couple’s public retreat to America – where they supposedly originally hoped for privacy and then secured high-profile cooperation.
Filmmakers are also upset about Netflix’s huge deal. Harry and Meghan signed a huge deal with the streaming platform in 2020. They are said to have raised around $100 million USD for this.
According to Netflix, the “Harry & Meghan” documentary has been watched more than any other documentary on the platform. But then, the product makers no longer have enough input.
In August, Netflix released Harry’s passion project, the docu-series “Heart of Invictus” — but viewership was abysmal.
The couple is also at loggerheads with music streaming service Spotify. Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes” was terminated there after only one season – the contract with the Sussexes was terminated.
By the way, this isn’t the first time the two have been parodied in anime. Just in February, the producers of South Park devoted an entire episode to the couple.
in “ The International Privacy Tour targeted the discoveries surrounding Harry’s diary ‘Spare Parts’.
If things continue like this, the Sussexes may soon have fewer projects and more time for TV evenings on the sofa.
