Briar Schaller-Hurliman and Yannick Schaller do homework at the World Mixed Curling Championships in a 5-4 win over Turkey.

After an 8-2 defeat by the United States, Briar Schaller-Hurliman and Yannick Schaller found their way back to winning the Olympic World Mixed Doubles Championship. In Gangneung (South Korea) the Swiss pair achieved their third victory over Turkey in the fourth game.

Turkish as a stubborn opponent

The Turkish team around Delsat Yildiz and Bilal Choucair, who previously stunned Germany by beating them, also put up a tough fight against the flawed Swiss duo. Only in the eighth, final finish, the Swiss turned the last-stone advantage into the decisive point for a 5: 4 victory.

The Swiss duo will next play against Norway on Tuesday evening.
