Add to that the name of a legendary rock and roll icon and you have a truly extraordinary story. This is the story of a red Ferrari F50 that was owned by music legend Rod Stewart and is now up for auction.

Each Ferrari F50 is a true analog supercar with a race-derived 4.7-litre V12 engine. This one is even more special because it was delivered new to Rod Stewart. It was completed in 1996 and was originally by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. Imported to the United Kingdom. It was first approved in June 1997.

Records show the car had a short stay in Dubai in 2002, then returned to the UK in 2007. It has since had six owners. Down to the current seller, who has taken care of it for over two and a half years.

The odometer shows only 10,998 miles. The Ferrari underwent an annual inspection and clutch replacement in August 2023, leaving it in top condition for its new owner. In addition, the 2014 Ferrari Classic Certificate for the F50 confirms that it contains its original engine and gearbox with the same numbers, which also adds to its authenticity and appeal.

The lucky buyer of this unique Ferrari F50 will not only receive the red Classiche folder, but also a comprehensive historical file. These include the original registration documents showing the car’s connection to Rod Stewart, a copy of the warranty book page dedicated to the rock legend in June 1997, and a collection of previous service records.

This piece of supercar and rock ‘n’ roll history is currently for sale at Collecting Cars. A total of eight bids have been submitted so far (as of 8 November 2023), with the highest bid being £2,000,000 or €2,297,743 at the current exchange rate.
