Romania was unable to overcome a goalless draw in the European Championship qualifying group against Belarus in Switzerland. Kosovo achieves its first victory.

Nati coach Murat Yakin must have looked at the Totomat with a smile on Thursday. Romania, Switzerland’s strongest opponent in Group A, played more aggressively in the match against Belarus, but failed to score a single goal despite 19 attempts.

After a 0-0 draw at Exile in Budapest, Romania is one point away from the national team, but missed the jump to the top of the table. Switzerland, which played one less game due to the postponement of the match against Israel, will try to break down the Belarusian defense on Sunday. Romania hosts Andorra on the same day.

Kosovo with victory premiere

For Kosovo, the dream of qualifying for the European Championship for the first time still exists, at least on paper. Coach Primoz Gliha’s team deserved to beat bottom club Andorra 3-0 away from home and beat Belarus in the standings. Captain Milot Rashica scored twice in Kosovo’s first win of the season. Despite the three points, a European Championship debut will be an uphill task for Kosovo. Three laps before the end, the team is 6 points behind the second-placed Romanian.
