From 2025, aircraft will have to be fueled in a more environmentally friendly way.
To start, 2% of the fuel needs to be sustainable. The quota is constantly increased.
By 2050, 70% of the fuel served at EU airports must be environmentally friendly.
The European Union takes a step forward in climate protection. In less than two years, aircraft will be flying from EU airports using at least 2% sustainable fuel. The share will then be continuously increased until it reaches 70 percent in 2050. Sustainable fuels include, for example, those made from organic waste, used cooking oil, as well as industrially produced fuels.

From 2025, flights will also be eco-labeled so passengers can better compare the environmental impact of different flights.
