On October 3, 1992, Barack and Michelle Obama married. Their 31st wedding anniversary was on Tuesday – the politician, who was President of the United States from 2009 to 2017, took the opportunity to share a sweet post for his wife.

Barack Obama posted a photo on Instagram showing himself and his wife. The two are standing in front of a field, laughing heartily, wearing casual clothes. The 62-year-old is wearing cream trousers and a navy blue jacket, while his wife is wearing blue jeans and a matching puffer jacket.

Barack Obama took the opportunity to make an emotional declaration of love to the former First Lady on her anniversary. “Happy anniversary, honey. You’re amazing, kind, funny, and beautiful — and I’m so lucky to have you as mine,” he wrote.

The two’s followers were excited, with nearly a million people liking the post. The comments section was filled with heart emojis, including from celebrities like actress Julia Roberts.
