Apple announces an event
On Tuesday, Apple announced an upcoming event on its website. “Watch the special Apple event. Join us for a special Apple event on October 30 at 5:00 PM PT,” the page says.
iGroup has already announced its second fall event this year. Apple’s event website features an Apple logo on a black background that turns into a Mac Finder icon, underscoring the event’s Mac focus. As with previous events, this will be a pre-recorded event and will be conducted exclusively online and with no in-person event, MacRumors reports.
MacRumors explains that Mac rumors have been confusing lately. So there are different options of what you can expect at your next event. For example, an updated version of the 24-inch iMac might be possible. Until now, these devices have been powered by the M1 silicon chip. According to MacRumors, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman does not expect a refresh for the MacBook Air, however, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and 16-inch MacBook Pro could get new chips, according to the specialist. It is currently unclear whether the update for the new chips will focus only on the M3 series. However, depending on what is reviewed, the iMac and MacBook Pro models could adopt the 3nm M3 series chipset.
As Macworld also reported, iPad fans can also look forward to updates. For example, the iPad Mini was last updated in 2021. However, a seventh-generation model with better chip and display improvements is expected later this year. According to rumours, there may also be a new iPad Pro: However, a 14-inch iPad is not expected until 2024. In addition, rumors have been circulating about AirPods Lite for some time. These reportedly cost $99 and can be a big hit in the Christmas business if you show up on time. AirPods Max also need to be updated.
However, it remains to be seen what will actually be presented at the event.
The event comes before the quarterly numbers
The event also takes place before Apple’s latest quarterly numbers are announced. The American company plans to publish data for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2023 on November 2. According to estimates by 33 analysts, the average earnings per share is expected to reach $1.39. In the same quarter last year, Apple reported earnings per share of $1.29 per share. On average, 29 analysts expect sales to reach $89.26 billion. Compared to the same quarter last year, this means a decrease of 0.98 percent.
