Hundreds of dogs in New York have already celebrated Halloween dressed as Barbie, potted plants, guitarists or UPS employees. Although perhaps it was the owners who really enjoyed it (besides the photographers, of course). At the 33rd Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, participants in the annual competition tested their costume skills in Manhattan’s East Village on Saturday.

According to organizers, the show, which was held about a week before Halloween (October 31), was attended by 15,000 people and many dogs in costumes. ‘Pookah’ was finally chosen as the winner – a Pomeranian dressed as ‘Pookah the Bear’, complete with a red jacket and a honey pot.

But in fact, it’s not the disguise, but rather the dogs’ facial expressions that make the photos special.
