Timisoara The meeting of European Theater Schools “Network – Theater Schools in Europe” began on Friday, November 10, in the European Capital of Culture, Timisoara. Seven European theater schools – from Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Poland and Romania – connect, presenting their own theater productions and participating in workshops and debates.

Participants are Hannover University of Music, Theater and Media, Germany; Baden-Württemberg Academy of Dramatic Arts in Ludwigsburg, Germany; Private University of Music and Arts in Vienna, Austria; School of Theater at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow from the United Kingdom; Aleksandar Zelorowicz National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Warsaw, Poland; Department of German-Speaking Drama at the Faculty of Music and Theater of the Western University in Timisoara, Romania.

The “Network” not only connects European theater schools and academies, but also provides a good opportunity for Romanian-speaking students to feel the pulse of student life in Timisoara and get to know the world of theater. During the festival, theatrical readings with young actors from six Romanian schools will be held every day at the Eugene Torduran Central University Library: from the German Goethe College in Bucharest, the Banat National College in Timisoara, and the British International School of Art. Timisoara, from “Nikolaos Linau” High School, from “Babylon” School and “Ion Fedo” Technical School of Timisoara. The performances will be held in Romanian, English and German and will be conducted by Axel Mustasch, Raoul Andreas Horn, Stella Urban, William Wilson, Jacqueline Cole, Armand Iftoud and Daniel Cevscu.

During the festival, there will also be a four-day autumn drama school for German-speaking students who love theatre. 14 students from Bucharest, Hermannstadt/Sibiu and Timisoara are currently participating in intensive workshops on acting, stage movement, improvisation, drama and creative writing, and in lectures and performances at the festival.
