The Canadiens have nominated a roster that is comprised of head-to-toe NHL players. It’s a perfect mix of seasoned players and budding superstars.
Lawson Cruz, Tyler Toffoli, Scott Lawton and Milan Lucic are certainly more established players with a lot of experience, while Peyton Krebs, Zach Quinn, Jake Neighbors and Joe Veleno are the future.
Maple Leafs are best located on the “blue line”.. With Tyler Myers, MacKenzie Weegar, Jake Walman, PO Joseph, Justin Barron and Ethan Bear, some of the best defensemen in the entire NHL are starting.
The Canadians are also well-positioned when it comes to goaltending, as at just 21 years old, Devon Levy may be one of the most promising talents in the NHL at the position. So all of Canada is pretty well occupied!
The reigning vice world champions also managed to play a friendly match just before the start of the tournament. It was a 5-2 win over Hungary, but all the stars were missing.
However, the upcoming enemy should not be underestimated. Most of the spectators will cheer the hosts wildly, especially since the game will be played in the Latvian capital of Riga.
