British actress Sophie Turner (27 years old) and American singer Joe Jonas (34 years old) are about to reach an agreement in the custody dispute of their two daughters. The two participated in mediation and an amicable solution emerged, according to documents filed in court in New York on Tuesday and made available to the German news agency DPA. They therefore both requested that all trial dates that had been set be temporarily cancelled.

Turner and Jonas announced their split at the beginning of September, describing the plans as a “mutual decision.” About three weeks ago, the actress called on the singer to return her two children. The court document said the daughters, born in 2020 and 2022, are being illegally detained in New York.

A spokesman for the father then announced that Jonas had initiated divorce proceedings in the US state of Florida, and that the court there had already ordered that the parents not be allowed to move with their children. The children were born in the United States and most of them lived there, according to the statement available to the German News Agency. The New York court agreed that the children should remain in New York until the custody dispute was resolved. The trial was initially scheduled to begin in New York on January 2, 2024.

According to US media reports, the amicable solution now being worked on will include the children taking turns spending time with their mother and father and allowing them to travel freely with both. Jonas and Turner got engaged in 2017, then married twice in 2019, in May in Las Vegas and in July in France.
