To celebrate National Grilled Cheese Month, the Norfield Grange Farmers Market is holding a special cooking demonstration.

Patty Gay, a 2012 finalist in Artisanal Bistro’s Best Grilled Cheese in New York City contest, is holding the demo at the Farmers Market at Norfield Grange, 12 Goodhill Road, Saturday, April 27, between 11 and 2.

Ms. Gay will demonstrate how to make a perfect grilled cheese. She will make two sandwiches. Her famous “Three Cheese Crisp,” features Gruyère and Fontina cheeses on sourdough bread, slathered with rosemary-infused butter, with parmesan crisps tucked in the middle.

She will also debut her new grilled cheese, called “The Weston,” which features cheddar cheese, smoked gouda, bacon, and fresh tomato jam on sourdough bread brushed in cheddar-rosemary butter.

The public is invited to try free tasting samples of both sandwiches.

The Farmers Market features a wide variety of fresh produce and products from local purveyors and farmers.
