Lynn Maron / The Disgusting Duo Lake Kolk
Active members of MTV Langwedel’s Dance Sports segment were convinced by the great performances. Eleven-year-old Lynn Maron and twelve-year-old Leakey Kolk proved their talent by winning the duet Jazz Children’s. With their rousing performance of “Hot Money Rag” they captivated the jury and the audience. “We couldn’t believe it, we got amazing medals and a gold cup. When the result was announced over 80 percent, we were very happy,” Lake proudly reported. The duo from the 1st Jazzdance Club Freiburg finished second ahead of two young dancers from the LA Ballet and Dance School in Gelsenkirchen.
Sophia Jekyll is delighted with the performance and victory
Sofia Jackel (12 years old) convinced the jury with her brilliant performance in the children’s singing and dancing category with the song “Thank You for the Music” – 1st place. “I trained a lot with my singing teacher. Then, while I was singing and doing the dance moves, it was hard not to breathe. My goal was to qualify. You need at least 70 percent for that,” Sofia said happily.
Lynne Maron continued her streak of success as a soloist in the Kids Singing Dance category and made it into the top ten at number nine. Maroun’s performance is a testament to her exceptional talent and hard work in her dance rehearsals. Valentina Weissner from the Tanzhaus ad Libbitum district of Halle/Saale achieved the highest score of soloists in her age group at the Championship and got this at Wesseling. Lynn: “Valentina is a great role model for me. She is technically perfect and her choreography is amazing. It was my first time at lyrical dance and I never thought I would get this far because most of my classmates were a couple of years older than me.”
The MTV coaches are very proud
Coaches Emma Wesseling and Birgitte Sassi Maron came to a very happy conclusion: “The results reflect the hard work, commitment and passion that the girls put into the preparation. The World Cup of Dance is a world-famous event where the best dancers from all over the world compete. We are very proud of the girls that they were able to buy The tickets are long overdue and they are now part of the Germany team.”
