
The Weston High boys lacrosse team upset Joel Barlow 8-6 to won its first-ever South-West Conference championship on Friday, May 25, at Newtown High.
Weston, the number three seed, led 2-0 in the first quarter and was up 7-2 in the third before Barlow threatened.Lyle Mitchell led Weston with three goals. Jack Scheufele and Sean Fumai each scored two. Grant Limone scored one and made 16 saves to be named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Matt Brooks had two assists and Peter Robbins had one for Weston, which will now take part in the state Class S tournament.
