Photo reader astronomy: The Sun is in H-alpha
© Markus Weber
The plane passing in front of the sun. In fact, I just wanted to test the flat field on the new H-alpha telescope (Verein Sternwarte Trier eV), as described by Mehmet Ergün in his solar lecture at ABK 2023 (Kreuznach Astro Exchange). Looking at the images, it became clear that a passenger plane had also crossed the sun. One shot showed only the cockpit, then the next shot showed the entire fuselage. This photo shows one image that was later colored. Above the plane is the region surrounding sunspot clusters 3451 and 3452. The area surrounding cluster 3454 can be seen in the jet line.
