Electronic Arts regularly simulates major events and seasons in its sports games in order to predict the winner. 2K Sports is now doing the same in NBA 2K24 to mark the start of the new NBA season.
The new 2023/2024 NBA season is just around the corner – and 2K is taking this opportunity to use its new NBA 2K24 basketball simulation to predict the outcome. EA in particular has had success with such simulations in Madden NFL when it comes to predicting the winner of this year’s Super Bowl. Can 2K do this too?
If NBA 2K24’s new season simulation is to be believed, the Boston Celtics will be the new champions. They defeated the Golden State Warriors in the Finals, and Jayson Tatum became the Finals MVP. Before that, the Boston Celtics took down the Milwaukee Bucks in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals, while the Golden State Warriors’ path to the Western Conference Finals took them past Denver in six games.
But it’s not Tatum who will be named regular-season MVP; Instead, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should receive the honor. The Rookie of the Year should be Victor Wimpanyama, while Evan Mobley should be the Defensive Player of the Year. And the German stars? Van Wagner is averaging 15.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this rookie season, while National Team captain Dennis Schroder has 11.3 PPG, 1.7 RPG and 4.6 APG.
Aside from the simulation, the start of the season is also being celebrated with a discount of up to 40 percent on the full version of NBA 2K24 itself. The Kobe Bryant Edition is on sale until October 25, and the Black Mamba Edition from October 25 to November 15, 2023.
2K is ringing in the second season of the current NBA 2K24.
