The British government is not resting under Liz Truss: the prime minister has parted ways with a secretary of state for trade.
A foreign secretary in Britain’s new government has been sacked over allegations of “gross misconduct”. Prime Minister Liz Truss has relieved Business Secretary Conor Burns of his duties with immediate effect, a Downing Street spokesman said on Friday afternoon. The allegations are said to have been made after the Tories’ party conference in Birmingham this week. According to “The Sun”, Burns behaved inappropriately with a young man in a hotel bar. Burns was considered a confidant of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
