England: Cristiano Ronaldo accused after outburst
The English Football Association has accused Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo of outrage after a Premier League match last season. The statement said his behavior after the match against Everton on April 9 (0-1) was inappropriate and/or violent. In one of the videos, Ronaldo appears to slap the phone from the hand of a young fan. Police in Liverpool launched an investigation into possible bodily harm and property damage, but eventually left them with a warning.
Germany: Boetius survived surgery well
Jean-Paul Boetius underwent successful surgery by Hertha Berlin after being diagnosed with a testicular tumor. “The surgery was done and went well,” the former Basel FC player announced on Instagram. “Thank you for the warm and spirited words,” the 28-year-old midfielder continued. Boëtius is the fourth known case in the Bundesliga with a testicular tumor in a short time after teammate Marco Richter, Timo Baumgartel of Union and Dortmund Sebastian Haller.
