Puppy missing near Saugatuck River in Weston

Lila has been missing from her Colony Road yard in the Davis Hill/Valley Forge area since Thursday. She may have been spotted being rescued from the Saugatuck. There is a reward for her return.

Olivia Charney reports that her familiy’s six-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been missing from their river front home on Colony Road since last Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31.

The puppy, Lila, was outside with other family pet dog when she dissapeared around 2:45 PM on Thursday. The dog is a tri-color female and is primarily black with white and brown markings. She has black spots on her nose and a white “saddle” on her hips.

Ms. Charney said the dog warden also received an abrupt message about a dog being spotted and then rescued from the river around the same time. “No other information was given and it is felt that these two occurances may be linked,” Ms. Charney.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the local animal control officer (203-222-2642), the police (203-222-2600) or the pet owner (203-216-5330).¬†There is a $500 reward for the puppy’s return.

“Lila is a very gentle and loving animal. She is deeply missed by her family,” Ms. Charney said.
