The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Fairfield County Chorale Carolers to do a series of seasonal songs at member restaurants in Saugatuck on Saturday evening, Dec. 20.

“I’m excited that such a talented group of carolers will be helping to spread holiday cheer,” said Matthew Mandell, executive director of the chamber. “Diners will get quite a thrill when this ensemble comes in and treats them to a few songs each.”

The carolers will begin their rounds at Tutti’s Restaurante beginning at 7 p.m. and then make their way around the train station area, stopping at The Black Duck, Tarantino, Mario’s Place and Tarry Lodge. They will then proceed north entertaining the guests at Rizzuto’s, Dunville’s and the Boathouse. If time and energy allows, they will finish at the Saugatuck Plaza Christmas tree.

The Carolers are all members of the Fairfield County Chorale, a 53-year-old organization, which just finished a production of Handel’s Messiah. Their next concert will be in March with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. “We are thrilled to be able to sing in Westport,” said carolers Director Elisabeth Rose. “Music and singing makes people happy and brings smiles to their faces and those of the singers, as well.”

This event is another part of the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce’s campaign to “Eat Local,” and enjoy the holidays while at it.
