Boys lacrosse: Weston gets edged in overtime

lacrossestickThe Weston High boys lacrosse team lost 6-5 in double overtime to New Milford on Thursday.

Weston, which led 2-1 after one quarter, increased its lead to 5-2 after three frames before New Milford retaliated, tying it with 1.4 seconds left in regulation time. New Milford scored the game-winner with 0.04 seconds left in the second overtime.

Sean Fumai led Weston with three goals. Troy Flynn (two assists), and Spencer Turkel each scored one. Richie Miller had one assist.

Grant Limone made 17 saves in goal for Weston, including eight in the fourth quarter and three in overtime.
