The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL), the state’s largest grass roots gun rights group, is participating with the National Rifle Association, National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Coalition of Connecticut Sportsman in a “Lobby Day Event” Monday, March 11, at the legislative office building in Hartford.
The CCDL said the purpose for this event is to have gun owners and 2nd Amendment supporters meet with their legislators, have a visible presence at the Capitol Legislative Office Building and stand with each other in unity for support of gun rights.
CCDL President Scott Wilson said in a press release, “This may be one of the last chances we have to show our legislators that we are the good law abiding citizens that we are, and to ask them to follow the constitution of this state. We want them to know that we are not happy with many of the proposed solutions put forth from the Gun Violence Task Force, as well as Gov. Malloy’s proposal. We are proud to stand with the NRA, NSSF and CCS to conduct this Lobby Day Event. We are calling for the support of all gun owners across the state to show up to this event.”
