Play With Your Food is coming to the Weston Public Library on Tuesday, July 17.
Beginning at noon, the always sold-out program includes plays read by professional actors and a boxed lunch catered by Peter’s Market.
It’s an opportunity for people to gather over lunch, and then enjoy stimulating short plays by both award-winning and emerging playwrights.
This year’s plays include:
Jets by Fred Stroppel, the author of last summer’s Pillow. Kim Squires stars as a slightly over-the-top sports fan and Allan Zeller, her real-life husband, as her husband.
I Didn’t Know You Could Cook by Rich Orloff features a whole world in a one-act play. It features Damian Long, teacher and director of shows at Weston High School; and Weston’s Sean Hannon as brothers with some unique issues to address.
Almost Maine by John Cariani is about the joys and perils of romance under the Northern Lights. It stars Cindy Hannon of Wilton, as a woman in search of her heart — in more ways than one.
The Friends of the Weston Public Library is underwriting a substantial portion of the show. Tickets are $25 and include lunch. Checks may be dropped off at the library with lunch selection: chicken salad, roasted vegetables, or ham and cheese.
