This week’s Kiwanis Club breakfast meeting will feature speaker Joe Farris, an internationally published cartoonist whose works have appeared in the New Yorker and many other publications since 1957.
Some of Mr. Farris’s past works include the books Phobias and Therapies, A Cog in the Wheel and They’re a Very Successful Family.
He is attending the Kiwanis meeting on Saturday to speak about his new book: A Soldier’s Sketchbook. His newest work portrays the firsthand story of his life as a young soldier and artist during World War II, told through letters home and sketches of daily life serving with the Army’s 100th Division on the French-German border in 1944 and 1945.
The meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Norfield Church Parish Hall, and the public is welcome to attend.
