It looks like Republican incumbent John Shaban will retain his seat in the 135th House District, which includes Weston, Easton, and a portion of Redding. Unofficial tallies show in Easton, the vote was 2,329-1,497 in Mr. Shaban’s favor; in Redding, it was 1,723 for Mr. Shaban to 1,630 for Mr. Karvelis.
The Associated Press has called the federal races. Mr. Obama has won in Connecticut; Mr. Murphy beat Linda McMahon for the U.S. Senate seat; and incumbent Jim Himes has retained his 4th Congressional District seat.
