Weston performers James Naughton, Chris Coogan, Doris and Frank Jacoby, and Mark Basile are all taking on major roles when the Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities presents an original revue on Sunday, April 22, at 3 p.m. at the center.
Titled Try to Remember, the show will feature songs, scenes and readings from classic movies and musicals.
Two-time Tony Award winner Mr. Naughton will headline the event as master of ceremonies and singer, with Mr. Coogan as musical director. Doris and Frank Jacoby are respectively serving as producer and director and will also be part of the cast, along with baritone Mark Basile.
Other cast members include Dee Andrian, Marty Bongfeldt, Patricia Englund, Linn and Ron Jacoby, David Rogers, and The Hoot Owls, the singing group of the Y’s Men of Westport/Weston.
Mr. Naughton, a longtime Westonite, has used his talents as actor, singer and director to support many local events.
Mr. Coogan performs near and far as pianist, singer, leader of a jazz group and director of the Good News Gospel Choir.
The Jacobys founded Jacoby/Storm productions in 1965, producing award-winning documentaries, corporate films and TV commercials. Mr. Basile has acted and sung in New York and Connecticut as well as in regional theater, TV and film.
The Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities raises money to support a variety of educational and entertainment events that enrich the center’s wide range of programs.
