Twelve area chapters of the League of Women Voters in Fairfield County will present a debate between Democrat Jim Himes and Republican Steve Obsitnik, candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 4th Congressional District, on Sunday, Oct. 28.
The event, free and open to the public, will be held from 4 to 5:30 at the Clune Performing Arts Center at Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road, Wilton.
Co-sponsors are LWVs of the Bridgeport Area, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton, which is hosting the event.
The afternoon’s format will include questions collected in writing from the audience and others prepared by league members. All questions will be presented by moderator Kay Maxwell, a former president of the League of Women Voters of the United States and currently executive director of the Stamford-based World Affairs Forum.
Voter registration will be available at Wilton High School beginning at 3 p.m. prior to the debate.

The candidates are also scheduled to have a final debate on Friday, Nov. 2, from 10-11 a.m. at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn on Main Street, sponsored by AARP.
