Jonathan M. Fine, MD, of Weston, director of research and medical education at Norwalk Hospital, received the 2012 Connecticut Thoracic Section Award from the American Lung Association. He received this honor “for dedication and service to the Connecticut Thoracic Section and the field of pulmonary medicine.”
The award was presented at the annual dinner of the American Lung Association.
Dr. Fine has published widely on medical quality improvement and has worked with hospitals throughout the state on numerous efforts to better healthcare delivery.
Dr. Fine was also recently honored at the American College of Physicians annual meeting in New Orleans for his receipt of its Connecticut Chapter’s Volunteerism and Community Service Award. This honor is given annually to a member of the chapter “who distinguishes him or herself as a true humanitarian” and was awarded to Dr. Fine for his service to the underprivileged in Connecticut as well as his disaster relief work with AmeriCares.
