The Weston High boys track team placed fifth overall in a field of 14 teams with 60.5 points (a half a point behind Bethel) at the South-West Conference finals on Monday.
Bunnell was first with 108.5. New Fairfield, which was disqualified in the final event, was runner-up with 98.6666, followed by Newtown with 97.
Weston earned a number of medals, including the silver in the 4×800 relay with Noah Krassin, Brad DeMarco, Cole Clark and David Stankiewicz finishing second in eight minutes, 15.74 seconds.Stankiewicz (right) won the 800 meters in 2:00.82 and ran the anchor leg of the first place 4×400 relay team, which also included Jon Savicky, Simeon Okoro, Zach Cannon finishing in 3:33.17.
Third place went to Larry Cass in the shot put with a toss of 43 feet, 1.25 inches.
