Football team holds car wash

The Weston High football team will host its annual car wash on Saturday, May 26, at St. Francis of Assisi Church on 35 Norfield Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cars will be hand washed and dried free of charge, but donations are accepted. Everyone getting his or her car washed is invited to enjoy complimentary hot dogs and soda, courtesy of Johnny’s Roadside Grill.

“Saturday’s weather looks to be all sun and no rain, so we are hoping for a large turnout,” said Coach Joe Lato. “This is an important fundraiser for our team, and we appreciate all donations made in support of our efforts.”

Donations to the Trojans are put to good use, including helping to cover the cost of the team’s annual preseason training camp. Coach Lato also ensures that his football players give back to the Weston community. Throughout the year, the football team volunteers for various community services, under the direction of their coaches. These yearly activities include chopping and delivering wood for Weston Warm-Up Fund, fundraising for Relay for Life, supporting the Memorial Day Weekend Road Race and providing a helping hand at various school and community events.
