Weston police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a two-car, head-on crash that occurred Sunday, May 6.
Because of the investigation, limited details about the accident were available at this time.
However, police say shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, a 2003 Ford Focus headed southbound on Newtown Turnpike, and a 1996 Honda Accord, headed northbound, crashed head on near the intersection of Valley Forge Road.
According to police, the engine of the Accord was ejected nearly 50 feet from the car on impact, and its driver, Emily Smith, 85, of Norwalk was transported to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries.
There was no information released about the driver of the Focus, Cindy Rivera, 20, also of Norwalk.
Both cars were deemed totaled.
