The fitness company launches today, October 17, 2023 Peloton Also in Austria. Products are now available exclusively via Amazon and Sport-Tiedje. So far, sports equipment can only be ordered in Germany, England, Canada and the United States. The brand wants to combine fitness, technology and content.
Peloton was founded in 2012 and gained attention through a successful funding campaign on Kickstarter in 2013. While things have skyrocketed during the pandemic, business has slowed down again in the past two years. The company’s headquarters are located in New York City. The company is generally known for its innovative training equipment and fitness content production.

This creates a one-of-a-kind fitness experience.”
Specially produced exercises
A Peloton bike is different from traditional exercise bikes. Specially produced workouts with qualified trainers can be streamed via a 21.5-inch touchscreen attached to the handlebar, regardless of individual fitness level and location. In Austria, 5,000 German language courses will be available, led by 11 German-speaking instructors, in addition to thousands of courses with German translation.
Peloton offers a total of 16 different fitness disciplines on its platform, including strength training, yoga, meditation, cardio, stretching, cycling, outdoor activities, running, walking, and boot camp. True to the motto “Workouts how, when, and where you want!”, videos can be watched live or on-demand and work with all Peloton products, the Peloton Bike, Bike+, and Tread. Courses range in length from 5 to 90 minutes.
Training courses, technology and equipment
Peloton combines classes, technology, training equipment and the Peloton app to personalize your fitness experience. The word Peloton comes from French. The word “Pelote” means ball and peloton refers to the closed peloton for cyclists in road cycling.
