Ian Book was brilliant at managing Fighting Irish crime, scoring 267 yards and three touchdowns on 19 of 24 lanes while adding an accelerating 67 yards to the team in eight attempts. While Boston College committed to halting the hasty endeavors of Keren Williams and the rest of Notre Dame that were spinning in the opposite direction, Bock made a sell-off with tailored runs that sparked scoring engines. It is a continuation of the story that continued in the aftermath of last week’s 47-40 win against Clemson, with Bock putting on one of the best performances of his career.
Boston College is not going to go away thanks to former Notre Dame midfielder Phil Gourkovic, who continues to revive the Eagles’ passing attack in a way not seen in years. But even as Boston College marched on the field for relegation in the late quarter to cut the lead to 15, the Irish quickly moved the other way, in a position to add their total when the fourth quarter begins.
