The British government is not resting under Liz Truss: the prime minister has parted ways with a secretary of state for trade.
A foreign secretary in Britain’s new government has been sacked over allegations of “gross misconduct”. Prime Minister Liz Truss has relieved Business Secretary Conor Burns of his duties with immediate effect, a Downing Street spokesman said on Friday afternoon. Also, MP from the parliamentary committee throughout the trial period. Burns said he would cooperate and clear his name.
The allegations are said to have been made after the Tories’ party conference in Birmingham this week. According to “The Sun”, Burns behaved inappropriately with a young man in a hotel bar. Burns was considered a confidant of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Over the past few months and years, cases of individual MPs who have behaved inappropriately or been sexually assaulted have repeatedly hit the headlines. An initially reluctant handling of one of these cases hastened the downfall of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
