The “V” in the product name stands for delay because it’s significant
Start of production for VanMoof v Postponed for more than a year from the current point of view. This was reported by the company from Amsterdam Currently only available on the internal blog. The model is currently being tested on the streets of Taipei, but the start of series production is a long way off. The start of production was originally planned for this fall, but according to the company, it has to be postponed until the end of 2023. This is due to the ongoing problems with the global supply chain. VanMoof co-founder and CEO Dice Carlier has this to say about the current situation:
The world is very different today than it was 12 months ago when we announced the VanMoof V. We know the production delay of the VanMoof V will be disappointing to many, but in our current economic climate it is important to be realistic. The new model was presented at the end of 2021 and is intended to provide users with a real car replacement. It is optimized for long journeys and comes with special functions including the ability to reach speeds of up to 50 kmph. Of course only where permitted by law, otherwise the system automatically slows down. However, features shared with the hyperbike such as automatic gearshift, brand new drive train or USB-C charging stations can also be found in the recently launched A5 & S5 series of e-bikes as Dice Carlier. The VanMoof S5 & A5 models are designed for urban use, while the VanMoof V is designed for longer distances. Delivery of the S5 & A5 e-bikes is scheduled for the end of this year. Test drives are now possible at various stations around the world. So you can already try the upcoming features of VanMoof V.

Those who reserved the VanMoof V need not worry about losing their place in line. The company will inform the pre-orderers more details before delivery. Deliveries will start first in countries where pre-order is possible: Netherlands, Germany, France, United Kingdom, USA and Japan.
