Due the impending blizzard, Weston Town Hall will close at noon today.
Light steady snow this morning will gradually increase in intensity during the late morning and early afternoon becoming moderate to heavy by mid afternoon. Very heavy snow is expected from Friday evening into Saturday morning. Blizzard conditions are expected between 6 PM Friday and 6 AM Saturday with near zero visibility at times, strong winds and snowfall rates of 2 – 4 inches per hour at times.
Total snowfall is expected to range from 14 – 24 inches in southern Connecticut.
The town has issued a CodeRed Alert telling Westonites the Emergency Management Team is monitoring the storm and road and emergency crews are prepared.
The town is ready to implement emergency procedures if there are significant power outages caused by the blizzard, which is expected to bring strong winds.
