Coaches vs. Cancer game is Thursday

The Weston High boys varsity lacrosse team will play its “Coaches vs. Cancer” game today (Thursday) at home against Staples at 5:45 p.m.

By passing out “Coaches vs. Cancer” buckets during the game the team will raise money to help support cancer research.

“My players have been raising money all week to help support cancer research and this game is the one I chose to bring to light the awareness and recognize those in attendance or around the state you have been impacted or have friends or family who have been affected,” said Weston head coach John Mathews. “The stat that hits home is that in our small state of Connecticut alone every day 58 people hear the words, ‘you have cancer.’”

The game will be rebroadcast on MSG Varsity at a later date.
