Weston’s $65-million 2013-14 budget was approved by a total of 289 voters at referendum.
Of the total, 82 ballots were cast last Wednesday, April 24, immediately following the Annual Town Budget Meeting (ATBM), and 22 were absentee ballots. Polls were open at Weston Middle School today from noon to 8 p.m.
On Question 1, should the school budget as approved by the ATBM ($45,575,418) be approved, 256 voted Yes and 33 voted No.
On Question 2, should the town budget as approved by the ATBM ($11,713,441) be approved, the vote was 251-38.
Question 3, should the capital budget as approved by the ATBM ($1,116,228) be approved, passed by a vote of 262-27.
Passage of the 2013-14 budget means a 0.54% decrease in the mill rate, from 24.02 to 23.89
