Star Trek: Resurgence – Developers Explain the Delay
Dramatic Labs announced the postponement of Star Trek: Resurgence in a statement on Twitter, noting that while “production has progressed steadily throughout the summer…we have made the difficult decision to postpone our release to 2022.” The delay will allow the studio to “put the final touches on the game and create a truly immersive Star Trek experience.”
“Our love and admiration for Star Trek are central to this decision,” she said. “We are proud of what we have accomplished so far and this continues to be a passionate project for everyone here. We are so grateful – and excited – to be able to work in a world that means so much to so many people.” Dramatic Labs said: “We can’t wait to show you all and look forward to taking you on An adventure unlike any other Star Trek game before it.”
What is Star Trek: Resurgence?
Star Trek: The Reappearance Announced at the Game Awards last year. Set after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, it tells its story from the alternating viewpoints of two different characters. Players take on the role of First Officer Jara Rydek and Carter Diaz’s technical crew. The development studio Dramatic Labs was founded by former Telltale Games president Kevin Brunner and has about 20 former Telltale employees. So it’s no wonder that everything that has been shown so far is very reminiscent of the interactive adventures of Telltale Games. The gameplay will consist of playable movies.
