New Easy Life album: Life Is Easy, “Maybe In Another Life…”

Easy Life has released a number of EPs and Mixtapes in the past. Last year, her long-awaited debut album “Life is a Beach” was released to the great delight of all fans. Last Friday they released a year after “Maybe In Another Life…”, which not only follows the debut, but subtly skips it. In 13 songs, the band teaches us that life is often beautiful, but sometimes it’s not that easy. “Beeswax” as their first release in April was followed by “Dear Miss Holloway”, “OTT”, “Antifreeze” and “Fortune Cookie” which gave us an idea of the entire project.

“Maybe In Another Life…” is an album full of hope and an attempt to understand the world that aims to make life easier. Produced and voiced by Murray Matraver, Easy Life once again contributes its unique sound from hip-hop, indie-pop and R&B, mixed with a dose of lightness. This seems to subtly paint over the sometimes difficult words in the tracks. Great moments like “Calling in sick,” which literally forces you to dance, and satisfying numbers like “Fortune Cookie,” which finishes the album.

Personalized Guests

While Easy Life isn’t exactly a band that welcomes special guests to their projects, they seem to have changed their minds about the current project. There are three featured parts on the album: “Dear Miss Holloway” with Kevin Abstract from Brockhampton, “OTT” with pop star Beene and a feature with Gus Dapperton contributing the futuristic sound on “Antifreeze.” The collaboration gives the album its own character and also sets it apart from its predecessor in this respect.

red thread

The record is an all-encompassing concept – you can feel it and hear it. You can find the common thread, often searched in vain on LPs, about “Maybe in another life…” from the first minute of listening. A bit of a dream world like Disney or Wes Anderson sneaks into the album’s sounds, covers, and videos. For example in the music video for the song “Dear Miss Holloway” or “OTT”, each one takes us to a different, very special world.

Easy Life is now closing the project with a major tour to accompany the album. They will begin showings in the UK next February followed by a tour across Europe with US shows concluding the tour.
