Xiaomi: Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro + and Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition data sheets leaked

On the Chinese network Weibo (via Xiaomi Philippines UpdateA few hours before the big Redmi launch on October 27, all the specifications of the Redmi Note 12 series were leaked in the form of data sheets (see below), although we can’t make any statements about the veracity of this information. Xiaomi itself has already revealed many features of the new premium midranger in the form of teaser stickers, here you can also find some typical images of the new 200MP camera, but the original speculation about the sideways curved screen did not materialize.

There are big differences between the three Redmi Note 12 models, especially when it comes to the camera and battery. In all cases, the display is a 6.67-inch flat 10-bit AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 900 nits brightness, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and Dolby Vision support and HDR10 +. All three Redmi Note 12 models are based on Mediatek’s new Dimensity 1080. In terms of battery, there is a 5,000 mAh battery in the Pro and Pro +, with the former charging at 67 watts and the latter at 120 watts.

Explorer Edition: 0 to 100 in 9 minutes

The Explorer version is based on a smaller 4,300mAh battery, which charges very quickly at 210W (just 9 minutes from 0 to 100). Perhaps to save money, Xiaomi still relies on UFS 2.2, paired with LPDDR4x RAM. Behind the main camera of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition is Samsung’s new ISOCELL HPX 200MP sensor with F/1.65 aperture and OIS, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro is based on Sony’s 50MP IMX766. With aperture of F/1.88 and OIS. All three Xiaomi midrangers combine with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera is 16 megapixels.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Explorer Edition seem to have a larger cooling system than the Redmi Note 12 Pro on board, all offering an X-Axis linear drive, 3.5mm jack, NFC, and starting with MIUI 13 on Android 12-Base. Depending on the model, there are variants with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The Redmi Note 12 series will be launched tomorrow, October 27, along with several other new Xiaomi and Redmi products in China. It is also expected globally in the first quarter of 2023, but likely with some changes.
