I recently did some astrological research. When I entered a very specific term into a search engine, the following formula suddenly popped up:
At first glance, this looks like a very fuzzy equation, in which the part to the right of the equal sign is most understandable, at least from a mathematical point of view. 1.16699016 * 10-8 Hertz means that the phenomenon occurs once every 85690525.45 seconds. Or convert it once every 2.716 years or two years and about 8 months. This is the average length of time between the occurrence of a “blue moon”.

There is no blue moon tradition in German-speaking countries. In English, the expression “blue moon” or “once in a blue moon” refers to something that rarely happens. How rare? This refers to the number put up by the search engine, which can be easily calculated from some astronomical facts. The Gregorian year is 365.2425 days. The period during which a particular phase of the moon, a synodic month, is repeated, is on average 29.5309 days. So there are 12,368 compound months in a year. But there are only 12 months in the calendar; 0.368 months per year are left out of the equation, which accumulate over time. After 2,716 years, the excess is added to a full month, so there can be 13 full moons in a year. It’s unclear why this fact was referred to as a “blue moon” — in fact, it originally referred to a different phenomenon.
