Trump’s inner circle walks the path of memory in Jerusalem

At the new Museum of Tolerance, highlights Abraham, Rich and Strong’s signature deals on Chevy, involving the former president’s daughter and son-in-law, former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and others from the Trump administration. Graduates, steaks and lots of drinks.

At one of the many open bars – including NFL star Bionic Manning and FIFA President Gianni Infondino – large, black-edged table lamps soared above the eager group of guests.

The whole event sounded like ‘Alice in Wonderland’, with Donald Trump as President of the United States and Benjamin Netanyahu as Prime Minister of Israel as those who fell through spectacles and entered an alternate reality.

In theory, this is the opening ceremony of the Freedom Man Center for Peace Through Strength, founded by David Friedman, the former US ambassador to Israel.

In practice, this looked like a Trump reunion, and the effectiveness of the campaign of Pompeo, who received the award for his work under the Abraham Agreement, was largely ignored by journalists.

Many participants loudly wanted Pompeo to run for US president in 2024 – he should consider whether Trump should never run again.

“We have to order Pompeo’s wine!” The wife of a diplomat at the bar learned some drinks from the Sakot winery in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, which Pompeo named after her red name last year.

The others were more obvious.

Sylvain Adams, co-chair of the event, said before the big applause — before the Pompeo and Abraham agreements closed the most deserving of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, and I think there was.

The current leaders of the United States and Israel would not have been President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. It appeared that one of the Israeli government ministers – Interior Minister Elt Sheikh – was present.

In a brief interview with CNN at the event, Friedman said he has been in close contact with alumni of the Trump administration and had no trouble making the long trip to Israel. Kushner and Trump arrived at 4 a.m. on Monday and left the same evening.

I love all these people: Jared, Ivanka, Monocene, Pompeo; We worked closely together, liked each other very much – which is unusual for departments in politics – it is good to see everyone here in Jerusalem,” he said.

Kushner, Trump, Netanyahu and others in the Israeli parliament attended the opening of the Abrahamic Treaty earlier in the day. The council, which has more than 100 members, wants to work to extend the Abraham Treaty.

While the evening festivities may seem like a snack for the Trump administration, the Nintendo event includes what looked like a rally for Netanyahu’s campaign.

Almost every time the former Israeli prime minister’s name is mentioned, there has been applause from the public. It can’t be said when my name is Biden or Bennett.

When Netanyahu arrived with his wife Sarah – in the middle of the event – the Moroccan ambassador to Israel was in the middle of the conversation, but a quarter of the audience was dumbfounded.

Trump's most dangerous gathering

Netanyahu hugged himself during his speech, quoting passages from his book and the speeches above about how he could make peace with the Arab world.

Netanyahu praised the Trump administration’s efforts to carry out such actions, saying he believed Kushner and other Trump groups “changed history.”

A few hours later, Netanyahu appeared to have taken a page out of the former president’s playbook on dealing with your successor, slamming Bennett from the Knesset podium and saying he was not a real prime minister.

For Netanyahu and the Trump team, this is a day to relish the glories of the past and – perhaps – look back at what could come back.
