No two rounds will take place from 16 until 2023

As expected, two rounds of the Round of 16 in the Swiss Cup will not take place until next year. Because Lucerne’s match against Basel in the Premier League will be rescheduled on November 9, FC Lucerne will only play away against FC Thun in the cup on January 31. A day later, Basel plays with the Grasshoppers. The other eighth rounds of the Cup will take place as planned in the second week of November. Rotkreuz – Schaffhausen and Arbedou-Castion – St. Gallen play on November 8, Weil – Sion, Lausanne – Sport – Young Boys, Whelen – Servet and Lugano – Winterthur are scheduled for November 9.

Schmidt runs in St. Gallen

FC St Gallen could plan another three years with full-back Isaac Schmidt. The 22-year-old moved from the state of Vaud from Lausanne to eastern Switzerland in 2021 and has now extended his contract, which expires at the end of the season, until 2026.
