Qatar is ready. But how is it otherwise?

I am not happy with the World Cup. Not because a country is so interested in ball sports as I am allowed to host the biggest soccer tournament in the world. Not because so many World Cup trophies were in doubt. Not even because the tournament had to be postponed to November because physical exertion in the desert is detrimental to health in the summer. However, I find it borderline tens of thousands were exposed to such heat during the construction of stadiums that footballers were not expected to be exposed. Men from Nepal and Bangladesh, the world’s poorest regions, worked on construction sites. Reports of miserable working conditions in Qatar and images of families who greeted loved ones who died on construction sites after months of toil in a coffin stick in my mind and come to mind every time I hear the words of the World Cup and Qatar in one breath. How can there be anticipation?
