Moscow, Berlin, London Vladimir Putin has taken precautionary measures: a few weeks ago, before the completion of maintenance work on his personal luxury boat Graceful Hamburg from the shipyard Blohm and Voss to Kaliningrad. The Russian president wanted to keep them safe from Western attacks.

This week, the European Union, the United States and Great Britain personally imposed sanctions on Putin and his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov. All of their assets are to be frozen. The day before, Western nations had imposed sanctions on a number of Russian business leaders, politicians and officials close to Putin.
