Nissan recall: Logo can hurt drivers

Nissan recalls 404,690 vehicles in the United States. There is no withdrawal on this subject in Germany.


The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and automaker Nissan have launched a recall campaign in the USA. 404,690 vehicles are currently affected in the USA.


The resin logo on the driver airbag module cover may have reduced durability in the affected vehicles due to potential inconsistencies in the production process. In this case, cracks can develop over time and the emblem and mounting components can separate if the airbag deploys.


These models are currently affected by the recall in the USA:

  • Nissan titanium From the production period 09/25/2007 to 04/27/2011
  • Nissan Frontier From the production period 09/13/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Xterra From the production period 09/13/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Pathfinder From the production period 09/13/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Armada From the production period 09/25/2007 to 04/28/2011
  • Nissan Quest From the production period 09/27/2007 to 07/15/2009

The fix is ​​currently under investigation. Dealers will be notified as of February 10, 2023. An initial letter will be sent to owners of all potentially affected vehicles by April 10, 2023. The recall can be found in NHTSA under case number 23V-067.
