Since its launch in December 2020, CD Projekt Red’s primary focus has been on damage control in the multi-million selling RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. After patch 1.6, a major expansion was first announced. The expected graphic-based add-on “Phantom Liberty” won’t come until 2023, but the teaser is already giving an initial glimpse.

A little information about the future of Night City
As for official information about the expansion, the Polish creators of the cybernetic universe are still hesitant. The exact time of the appearance of “Phantom Liberty” in 2023 is still open. One thing is for sure: the add-on will only be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One’s aging predecessors have been left out.
Game director Gabi Amatangelo said players will be introduced to new characters in the expansion. The story of the expansion is described as “a thrilling espionage story”. What is also certain is that protagonist V is once again the centerpiece of the story, that a new, uncharted area of Night City will serve as the backdrop and that actor Keanu Reeves will reappear as Johnny Silverhand. A tribute from a Hollywood star to “Cyberpunk 2077” can be seen in the current version of the online format “Night City Wire”.
It also included the contents of the patch 1.6 update. Presented again in more detail, which includes, among other things, content, weapons, and quests that come from the “cyberpunk” animated series “Edgerunners,” which begins September 13 on Netflix. In addition, the update will enable cross-platform progression, clothing transfer system, and playable game machines, among other things.
