The Swiss curlers celebrated their 6th win in 6 games without losing to Canada at the world championships in Sweden. CC Aarau led by Skip Silvana Tirinzoni won 7:6.

Switzerland led 6-4 after 6 ends, thanks to three more home runs, but had to let Canada close again. In the 9th end, the Swiss “gave away” a home to the opponents to secure the right to the last stone in the 10th end.

It paid off: Canada’s skip Kerry Einarsson had to take full risks on the last stone, which he failed to do. So Alina Potts didn’t have to play her last.

against New Zealand on Wednesday

The quartet of Tirinzoni, Pätz, Carole Howald and Briar Schwaller are on course to qualify directly for the semi-finals as one of the top two teams in the round robin. The remaining twelve teams have lost at least twice.

Switzerland’s game against New Zealand, still without a win, continues on Wednesday morning. You can follow the game from 9 am on the uncommented live stream.
