Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At Toronto’s close, it was up 0.81%.

The best performers of the session were Dye & Durham Ltd (TSX: ), which rose 9.89% or 1.40 points to trade at 15.55. Meanwhile, Athabasca Oil Corp (TSX: ) added 9.30% or 0.20 points to end at 2.35. Superior Plus Corp (TSX: ) was up 8.55% or 0.87 points to 11.05 in late trade.

Worst performance of the season Canada Goose Holdings Inc (TSX: ), which declined 4.32% or 1.06 points to trade at 23.50. Bausch Health Companies Inc (TSX: ) declined 3.38% or 0.30 points to end at 8.57. Cronos Group Inc (TSX: ) traded down 3.36% or 0.12 points to 3.45.

The Toronto Stock Exchange rose 596 to 406 to end flat at 114.

S&P/TSX options, a measure of volatility, rose 2.64% to 17.10.

Gold futures for February delivery were up 0.57%, or $10.15 to $1.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, oil WTI for February delivery rose 2.80% or 2.17 to settle at $79.66 a barrel, while February Brent oil futures rose 4.40% or 3.56 to trade at $84.54 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged from 0.43% to 0.74 and CAD/EUR was up 0.24% to 0.69.

US dollar index futures were down 0.12% at 104.01.
